Catch the Wave!

About Us

The Tidal Waves Swim Team (“Tidal Waves”) is a 501(C)3 private, not-for-profit recreational summer swim team based in Block House Creek Neighborhood and has served the greater Leander/Cedar Park communities for more than 20 years..

We are a part of the Northwest Swim Circuit (NWSC) which is a league of 13 independent swim teams in four divisions with swimmers ranging in age from 4–17 years. For additional information on the NWSC please refer to the following URL: https://nwsc.swimtopia.com/

The Tidal Waves was formed in 2001 and has grown to approximately 240 swimmers who compete each summer. Our team is open to qualifying aged swimmers (age as of May 1st) who are able to pass the minimum ability requirements (eligibility requirements are further detailed herein). The team is operated by an elected board of directors.

Tidal Wave practices occur in the evening at the beginning of the season when school is still in session and during morning hours after school is out. Additional details regarding practice and meet schedules may be located by exploring this website. The Northwest Swim Circuit requires that swim team parents complete volunteer shifts during the season in order for their swimmer to be eligible to participate in the meets and to help us run a successful meet.

Membership is open to anyone, though non-residents of the Block House Creek neighborhood will be assessed a pool usage fee upon registration.

Mission and Objectives

Tidal Waves purpose is to offer the young people of our community a recreational summer swim league with unique experiences that promotes the following goals:

● A positive, healthy, safe and enjoyable competitive environment for youth swimmers within the community

● An opportunity to develop competitive swimming skills as well as improve physical fitness

● A commitment to personal improvement, work ethic, self-discipline, self-confidence, and excellence

● A team environment of inclusion, camaraderie, sportsmanship, friendship, and fun

We view the fundamentals of hard work, regular practice, self-discipline, and goal-setting as important life skills. And we firmly believe that if we work hard, we can play hard and we can achieve!

So let us assure you that there is a welcome position for each and every child on our team. We ask only that you be a positive team member.

Make plans now to join our swim family during the upcoming season. Catch the Wave!

The Tidal Waves Swim Team belongs to the Northwest Swim Circuit (NWSC) of Austin, Texas. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, our Swim Team Board is comprised entirely of parent volunteers who work year-round to prepare for each season, and our summer seasons would not be possible without the full participation of our parents in running our weekly swim meets. We are also thankful for the support we receive from the broader community, especially from our local sponsors.
