Barbie Tibbetts Head Coach

Hi! I am Coach Tibbetts; and I am so happy to be coaching our Tidal Waves once again.

This will be my 13th year coaching. My family has been with the Tidal Waves since 2009; and I started coaching in 2014, when my sons were 7 and 11. They are now 19 and 23! My son, Kyle, was 6 when he started swimming and ended his Tidal Wave career as a Tidal Wave coach. Ryan started swimming at five and was a Tidal Wave until he aged out. He’ll be joining us as a coach this season.

I was a swimmer growing up, and swam on the Kingwood High School Swim Team. I am a 3rd grade teacher at Winkley, and you might see me working at The HEB Center every now and then. I can’t wait to get this season started!

Amy Dupuy Assistant Coach

Hi! I'm Coach Amy, and this is my second season with the Tidal Waves! I have been a swimmer my entire life! I began my coaching journey in 2023 with a summer league called Canyon Creek Cyclones in NW Austin and was the assistant swim coach for St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School from 2023-2025. This last year, I spent some time coaching at Twin Lakes YMCA as well. I swam at University of Houston on a swim scholarship for four years and can still be found swimming masters around town. I have two daughters, ages 7 & 9 on the team and continue my swim journey with them. I can't wait to share my swim knowledge with the kids and help them improve and enjoy such a great sport!!

Katie Morgan Assistant Coach

Hi! I’m Coach Morgan,

I’m excited to be back with the Tidal Waves this season! This will be my 12th year coaching summer league. I started swimming at age 6 and continued through college, where I founded the club swim team at Texas Tech University—Wreck ’Em! Swimming has taught me so many valuable life lessons, and I’m excited to share those with all my swimmers.

When I’m not on the pool deck, I’m at home with my daughter, Eden, or teaching 3rd grade at Winkley Elementary. I’m looking forward to a great summer filled with fun and fast swimming!

Kiana Rudd Assistant Coach

Hi! I’m Coach Kiana, I am so excited for this season! It is my first time coaching, but I spend majority of my year being a middle school teacher over at Georgetown. I‘m originally from Humble, TX, where I spent the ages of 6-16 swimming competitively, so being back around the pool feels like home. I’m looking forward to helping swimmers grow, build confidence, and have fun. Can’t wait for a great season!
